And I get paid for it!

I never expected to get a job in television when I left college but somehow ended up in one, watching and editing television. When I finally left that job to move to Canada, I somehow again ended up with a very similar job, perhaps less exciting but certainly with some interesting material! I've watched enough Jeremy Kyles and Ricki Lakes to last a lifetime (and even met Ricki who apologised for having to watch her show, thanks Ricki!) so I've decided it's finally time to start talking about the ridiculous things that I watch. In my last job, I watched such highlights as:

Can Fat Teens Hunt? (ruined by the tape boxes which said Can Fat Teens Hunt: Fat teens can't hunt. Damn.)

Half man, half tree: self explanatory

Boozed up Brits abroad: Guys pissing in each other's mouths. Ewww.

I've seen way too many boob jobs and liposuction surgeries, and seen tigers, lions, pigs and numerous other animals give birth. Shudder.

But in my current job, the material is a lot older, programs like Matlock, Kojak, Ironside and Magnum P.I. Yes these shows are old, but boy are they funny! Highlights include Ironside's female colleague who only seems to be good for making coffee and cooking dinner, Magnum's ever present tiny shorts (purrr) and the ridiculous amount of guest stars who are now famous (Billy Bob Thornton for one! Purr again!)

So from now on, I'm going to chronicle the ridiculousness of my job right here!

Roll it there Roisin!
